Prevention Education Grant

kNot Today is honored to offer a special grant cycle providing gap funding for Indiana-based child sexual abuse prevention education programs. We believe in the power of prevention and understand the critical need for funding to get ahead of abuse before it begins. Since 2022, kNot Today has offered over $320,000 for prevention education programs.

The intention of this grant cycle is to help fill the gaps in your existing funding, not to fund an entire program. Grants will range from $5,000-$25,000 and organizations need to indicate if they are open to partial funding for their requests.

kNot Today is eager to partner with prevention organizations across the state in our fight to end child sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking.

2024 Prevention Education Grant Timeline:

  • Must use an evidence-based program (see our definition of evidence-based here)
  • Must educate K-12 students
    • While we understand the need for adult training and Pre-K education, this grant is intended for K-12 students only.
  • Must collect the following data from programs (AT MINIMUM):
    • Number of children served per classroom per school
    • Names of schools served
    • Number of hotline reports made as a result of the program (made by facilitator or in conjunction with school staff on the day of implementation)
    • At least two stories (de-identified) that can be shared publicly – one in fall, one in spring
  • Must be willing to submit data requested above at the end of fall and spring semesters
  • Must be willing to meet at the end of fall and spring semesters for a 30-minute meeting with a kNot Today staff member
  • Can act as a reimbursement grant for any expenses associated with program implementation for the 2024-2025 school year

  • Multi-year funding asks are not allowable. Previous recipients will need to submit a new application.

Priority funding will be given to organizations who:

  • Will be reaching schools who have not received any evidence-based child abuse prevention programming in at least 3 years (or ever)
  • Are looking to expand to new schools not yet served by their organization
  • Are starting a prevention education program and planning to implement it in the ‘24-25 school year (This does not mean switching to a new curriculum. This is intended for organizations who have never implemented a prevention education program.)

Tip for preparing your application:

  • Do not write directly in the Google Form at first. Use a word processing software to write your answers, then copy and paste answers into the Google Form when you’re ready to submit.
